North American history is a timeline consisting of the native life as early as 1500 B.C., progressing into a wide range of European exploration beginning in the 10th century. With the advancement in technology, and trade growing higher in demand, Europeans ventured to the unknown land to seek more land and resources. The first European to land, however, was Eric the Red, a Viking from Iceland seeking refuge from exile, who had then convinced others from Greenland to join him during the 10th century A.D in the Newfoundland. Following the Vikings discovery was the most infamous of all explorations was the discovery led by Christopher Columbus before 1492 A.D., creating one of the largest turning points in America.
