Social History

Questia, your online research library and paper writing resource, contains thousands of scholarly articles and books about Social History.

Social History is the historical examination of how cultures establish social classifications and social order. The social history of a nation or region is constantly changing; entire social orders can be uprooted with a social revolution. Also of interest to social historians is the meta analysis of social structures: the analysis of the people whom history has traditionally deemed worthy of study. For example, historical record in old Europe was typically reserved for the wealthy, while the poor were not considered important enough to be incorporated into the historical narrative.
